Holodomor: Purge and the toll (November–December 1933)

November–December 1933

The famine ends with the 1933 harvest, and the party blames Ukrainian "nationalism". Demographers later put the toll at about 3.9 million excess deaths.

Circles show each 1932 oblast's total losses for 1932–34 (HURI); no month-by-month split per oblast is published. Borders and the cordon are approximate.
