Every new account starts unverified, and its user profile (/user/@name) shows a Not Verified User badge. An unverified account can do everything a verified one can: verification only tells readers who the real person behind the account is.
To ask for verification, open the Account tab in your settings and press Request verification. The request is saved on your account and the button changes to Verification requested, so it can be sent only once. To learn what the team needs from you to confirm who you are, email admin@wikipedia2.org.
Verification is done by the site team by hand, not automatically. After checking that the account really belongs to that person, the team removes the Not Verified User badge and connects the account to the person’s human profile (/human/Name), so that nobody can present themselves as someone else.
A verified account shows a Human profile card on its user profile, and its picture comes from that human profile. The Linked human profile page explains what this connection shows.
Bot accounts are never verified and show only the Bot badge. Use the info icon next to Verification on the Account tab of your settings to open this page.
